ST. JOHN AMBULANCE ASSOCIATION.
ANNUAL MEETING. The forty.second annual meeting of the Canterbury and West Coast Centre of the St. John Ambulance Association was held last night, Mr'J. A. Flesher presiding. The annual report and balance-sheet, of which summaries have been publishod, were taken as read. The chairman moved the adoption of tho report and balance-sheet, and referred briefly to the work dona, during the year. Dr. J. Restell Thomas seconded »the mofion, which was agreed to without discussion.
■ As it is intended by the Dominion Executive to appoint his Excellency the GovernorGeneral patron of tho Association in New Zealand, a vacancy was created for the position of president of the Centre. Colonel the Hon. Sir R. Heaftra Rhodes was elected president.
I Other officers were elected as. follows: Vice-presidents, Bishop West-Watson, Bishop Brodie, Lady Wisram, Mrs A. S. G. Rhodes. Mr J. A. Flesber,- and Dr. J. Restell Thomas. General committee: Mesdames H. H. Smith, S. A..Watkins, *lessrs H. L. Bowker, W. T. Charlewood, J. W. Hillary, W. J. le Cren, A. S. Legh, A- MaeGillivray. Lieut.-Col. 1\ B. Creswell, and Dr. M. G. Lonisson. The remaining nine members of the General Com.raittee will be appointed by the St. John Ambulance Brigade. > . On the motion of Mr W. E. D. Bishop, seconded by' Mr W. Eayward, a rote of thanks was passed -to the members of the Gorieral Committee for their services during the year.
