The latter was coming fr'om a Government position, and the feeling was thaf he would not have volunteered for the position un.ess he felt that it was his vocation SistcDorolhy (Shirley) had had- to give' up] cr position on account of ill-health and tint -was a great loss. Matron F. Williams had also had to resign from the Babies' Home, and Mrs L. Maclachlan had beeu appointed witn Miss Paor.'i as assistant:
The report and balance-sheet (already published) were adopted. In moving their'adoption, Mr C. E. Jones said the committee was pleased to be able to present a much brighter report and balance-sheet thau last rear They were £BOO better off, and there was a new balcony at the Babie.' Home (Sumner) Mr Jones referred to the value of after-care work, aud spoke appreciatively of the staffs of the homes and (he headquarters office •' Mr E J. Ross, in seconding the motion, expressed a hope that efforts would not be slackened and that next year the-contribu-tions would equal the calls required to carry on the. comes. ■ ■ '
