MINERS' STOP-WORK MEETINGS. (PEISS. ASBOCUTIOB TWJSOBUI.) HAMILTON, October 31. An important case was heard before Mr Wyvern Wilson, S.M., to-day, when the Puketniro Collieries, Ltd., asked for a penalty of £2OO, against the Pukemiro Coal Mine Workers' Industrial Union of Workers for holding, .two stop-work meetings. It was stated that considerable economic loss was caused to. the country by the practice, and the company wanted the position defined, ns it alleged that it was a breach of the agTeemeiit with the union. The defence raised by Mr P. O'Began was that the union was no longer existent. The Magistrate reserved his decision.
