EXPEDITION ADVANCES. (Br CABLE —PRESS ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN A\D X.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.; (Received October 31st, 7.10 p.m.) SYDNEY, October 31. A message from Tulagei to-day states that the punitive expedition advanced ten miles into the hills and established a base at Notastao, 3000 feet above sea level, in a deserted village. The disaffected natives have deserted their villages and taken to the bush. Operations Had been delayed by the difficult condition of the countrv.
