BALL AT HINDS.
The members of the Hinds Ladies' Hockey Olub held their annual "wind-up" ball in the local hall on Wednesday evening. There was a good attendance, and" the' effective decorations were carried out in black and gold. Mrs H. Chapman's full orchestra (Ashburton) supplied the music' and Miss S. Hampton played an extra. Mr C. P. Eeed carried out tho onerous duties o£ M.C. Amongst those prosent were: Mosdames J. 1 Cook, who wore floral jersey silk and lace; L. Bain, navy crepo de chine with Oriental trimmings; G. Clarke, rose satin niarocain and georgette; R. Knewstubb, Parma violet silk; D. T. Paterson, black lace with touches of gold; K. Wilson (Tinwald), oyster jersey silk; H. Hampton, blue mousseline; H. J. Chapman, black crepe de chine, fringed; E. Barnes (Coldstream), orange figured niarocain; Q. McKenzie. vieux rose silk and lace; H. McDowell, black, with lace side panels; G. Chisnall, amber brocaded marocain; Misses B. Hampton, cerise crepe de chine with sequin wrap; C. Lister, • black velvet; N. Roach (Longbeach), cyclamen crepe de chine; >?. Hampton, tangerino georgette, tinsel embroidered waistcoat effect; M, Hall (Ashburton), almond-green repp; M. Donaldson, apricot jersey silk; M. Chapman (Ashburton), shell-pink voile; M. Lowe, lavender marocain; E. Soal (Longbeach), jade taffeta with gold lace side panels; B. McGregor, heliotrope georgette; J. Hampton, azure-blue georgette with tinsel vest and Spanish shawl; A. Donaldson, old gold brocaded marocain; L. Blackwell (Ashburton), mauve stencilled voile; I. Daly, daffodil charmeuse with jade motif on shoulder; J. Mcintosh (Ashburton), fuchsia crepe de chine, slightly headed, and silver motif on shoulder; 0. Dell, light amber satin and lace; L. Wells (Ashburton), lemon georgette; I. Moore, apricot marocain; E. Rainey (Clandeboye), silver beaded Delft blue silk; M. Fulton, ivory Jace over ivory satin; L. Lister, flesh-pink crepo de chine: G. Woodham, check fuji silk; J. McMillan (Ashburton), blush-pink taffeta; 1. Waller, apricot crepe de chine with bugle bends; E. Hampton, Tench-blue velvet; J. Gluyas (Longbeach), pink georgette and beige lace; M. Elms, lilac silk; L, Wilson (Tinwald), cielblue georgette embossed in silver; J* 1 . Elms, creme fuji silk; A. Parsons, beaded bUnlipink crepo de chine; C.
