COUNTERFEIT PLANT.
THREE MEN ARRESTED. (8T CABLB—PBI3S ASSOCIATION— COPIBIGHT.) (AUSTBALIAX AMD N.Z. CABLB ASSOCIATION.) (Received October 80th, 5.5 p.m.) MELBOURNE, October 30. The police raided a house at Brighton, where they found a complete noteprinting plant and 2000 counterfeit £1 notes. Three men, Claude Smith, of New Zealand, John Thornton, and Frank Thornton, Were arrested and changed with conspiring to forge the notes. The police state that the notes' were to have been circulated at the races on Cup Day.
