WORLD CRUISES.

ANTIPODES OMITTED. i OLDER COUNTRIES PREFERRED. (Br CABLJ—PBISS ASSOCIATION"— COPTRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIA* AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) NEW YORK, October 28. Australia and New Zealand will not bo included in the itineraries of any world cruises being conducted this season by the large tourist agencies in America, and an intimation from one company suggests that ports in these two Dominions will also be omitted in future voyages. The Raymond and U liitcombe Cumpnny states: "'The inclusion of Australia and New Zealand has not proved sufficient of a selling point to make it possible for us successfully to sell this cruise with these countries included, taking into consideration the fact that a great deal of extra steaming is required to reach them. Passengers, in other words, have not found Australia sufficiently interesting to be able to enthuse to their friends over the visit and we have' been obliged to drop it from our route."

Cook's stated: "We feel it desirable to go back to visit India. China, and Japan and it is not possible to include Australia in tho itinerary outlined. This does not mean that we shall not at some future date include Australia and New Zealand. In case you have any question in mind. as to whether aur experience was the same as I' at reported by others, we take occasion to point out that the omission of Australia is not hcause the people did not, enjoy it. Our people thoroughly enjoyed it and we have every intention of including Australia and New Zealand in our cruise at some future date. You will grant that the interest in such new countries is not as great as the interest in older countries like Tndia, China, and Japan." It is understood that a private individual may conduct a limited tourist party from America to Australia in Januarv. but no nlans are yet fixed.
