AMATEUR OPERATIC SOCIETY.
The concert party of the Chriatchurca Amateur Operatic Society "will present their musical: pot-pourri in four acts at the Caledonian Hall at 8 p.m. on Thursday, November 3rd. The object of the production, namefy, the Christchurch Returned Soldiers' Association's Benefit Fund, should appeal to the public, but in addition to this a clean, bright show is assured. The principals include: Misses Madge Wilson, Edna Donaldson, Bessy Hollander, Constance Henderson, Claris Shaw, Rene and Edna Pedder, and Milly Black, Messrs Alan Brown, Wyn Cowlishaw, Fred Hale, H. Instone, J. Xevil Cohen, Ray Nottingham, L. Clemens, Ronald Todd, and' Wallace Grenfell. The solo dancers will be Misses Dallas Henley and Phylis Williams, and the ballets have been artistically • arranged by Miss Dorothy White (late of J. C. Williamson companies), and they ■will include Misses Stevens, McLean, Jackson, Ledsham, and Fleming. A feature of the production will be the beautiful ensemble numbers by the entire company, and special attention has been paid to the frocking'.and lighting effects. A ' full operatic orchestra will be associated with the pot-pourri, under the direction of Claris Shaw and the leadership of Mr T. B. Riordan, and the production will be under the baton of Mr R. Woolcock, The fact Agnes Richardson and'Mr Alan Brown are the joint producers guarantees a first-class production. Popular--prices are being charged, namely, 2s and Is. and the box plan of reserved seats opens this- (Monday) morning at. The Bristol, at 9 a.m., where intending patrons are.advised to make their reservations early, as the pot-pourri can.be fiven tor one night r only.
