U.S. NAVAL DISPUTE.
PRESIDENT'S ATTITUDE. (Received October 2Sth, 10.20 p.m.) WASHINGTON, October 27. President Coolidgc has disapproved of Admiral Magnider's application for the revocation of Mr Wilbur's order, and has denied the Admiral's request for a personal interview. Mr Wilbur himself carried the letter to the President, and after a long conference it is cenerallv understood that President Coolidge will support Mr Wilbur in anv action he may take. Mr Butler, of the House Naval Committee, is asking for an investigation bv his Committee.
r Admiral who visited Australia with the fleet in 1920, has been relieved of the post of Commandant of the Fourth Naval District of Philadelphia as a result of a controversy- precipitated by the Admiral's published and oral criticism of naval establishment. He was ordered to report to the Secretary of the Navy, Mr Wilbur, but protested against the order, and requested an interview with the President.]
