Several speakers contended that the company might suffer as the result of undue publicity, while several South Island shareholders stated that tho only information they could get regarding the company's operations was through the medium of the Press. On a show of hands being taken the motion to exclude the Press was defeated by an overwhelming majority. Tho chairman (Mr G. A. AVallis) demanded a poll, and when this was taken announced that the motion had been carried. Mr T. H. Caverhill (Christchurcfi): Give us the figures.
