NOTES AND MEMORANDA.
A meeting of the British Israel. Association will bo held at the Cadena tea rooms on Tuesday evening. Whist will be played nt the Cadena tearooms to-night. The Christchurch Dance Assembly will be held at the Caledonian Hall this evening. The Rev. J. C. Martin, secretary of the Australian Foreign Missions, will lecture at the Oxford terrace Baptist Church this evening. The annual bazaar at St. Stephen's, Shirley, will be opened this afternoon. A jumble salo will be held at Knox Hall on Tuesday afternoon.' The Tuahiwi pa celebrations, postponed from Labour Day, will be held this afternoon. Entries for the Banks Peninsula Show close on November 12th. The annual general meeting of St. Saviour's' Guild, the governing body of. St. Saviour's Orphanages, will be held in the Board room, Church House, 173 Cashel street, on Wednesday, November 2nd, at 8 p.m. Bishop WestWatson will preside. Dr. Bradshaw will give an organ recital on Thursday next at the Cathedral at 8 o'clock. The Loyal Orange Institution will hold its November celebrations in the Orange Hall on Wednesday, November 2nd, in the form of a social and dance. A first-class programme has been arranged, including novelty dances. The foundation stone of the new brick Sunday school hall will be laid by Mr J. A. Flesher, 0.8. E., at Clarence road Methodist Church, Riccnrton, at 2.30 this afternoon. The anniversary services of the Durham street South Methodist Sunday school are being celebrated to-morrow, when the preachers will be; 11 a.m., Mr J. H. Pugh; 2.45 p.m., the Rev. J. K. Archer; 6.30 p.m., flic Rev. J. Harris. Special anniversary services will be held in St. Paul's Presbyterian Church an Sunday. The preacher will be the Rev. Tullock Yuille, of Knox Church, Dunedin. Those attending a lecture by Dr. Bone at the Public Library to-night will have an opportunity of hearing him discuss the position of Dr. Barnes in relation to questions now agitating theological circles. Musical and elocutionary competitions will be held at St. Paul's Hal! to-night. The Kashmiri cabaret will be held at the Joyla'nd Theatre to-night. > A 20-mile cycle race from Kaiapoi will be held on Thursday, November 17th, by the Sports Club. A coster ball to aid the Girl Guides' Association will be held on November 7th at the Caledonian Hall. The Christchurch Citizens' Association will meet next Friday evening, when the Association's tramway election policy will be explained. St. Margaret's College sports will be held at the Christ's College cricket ground on Wednesday. Dr. M. R. Brawner's campaign of evangelistic services will be continued next week.
