KICK FROM HORSE.
DEATH OF MR J- G. SEATON. About 1.30 p.m. on Thursday m elderly man named John George was found unconscious in us stable a the rear of the llotherhekl Hotel, and some hours later he died in the Lnnsuchurch Hospital, after an operation on lh T. Hiu, Stewart llobhu.ou, buotinakei Cashel street, gave evidence ot idenncation. Witness was a son-m-law and he saw deceased at l-',Jo p in. on Hiursil«v, when lie was speaking to tlio licence of the Rothcrheld Hotel. He was then in -oo<i health, apparently, and the general health of deceased had been good. . Constable Abbott deposed to .oeing called to the stables at 1.30 p.m., where he saw -Seaton lying on the rloor about two feet in from the door. There was a horse in one of the stalls and Seaton was iust behind the horse. Witness saw that Soaton had a cut on his skull about three inches long and that he was unconscious. The injured ntan was put in an ambulance, ti-er-seani McGregor taking him to the Christchnrch Hospital Witness picked ;ip a cap about two feet from the injured man, and it had two pierced holes on the crown of it. The cap bore the impression of a kick from the shoe of a horse. Dr. Ella Lacgley gave evidence as to the injuries sustained by Seaton. Tlray were such as might; have been catised by a kick from a horse. hi returning his verdict, the Coroner said that death was caused by a fracture of the skull due to a kick ou the head by a horse in a stable in Cashel street. "Deceased had passed his span of life," added IVfr Yfosley, "and so. perhaps, it will not be so hard on the near relatives, but it is sad that he should have been cut off as he was." !
