RECORD ENTRY OF PIGS. Tor the second Show of the Koyal Agricultural Society of New Zealand • to be held in Canterbury, the entries constitute a record. Compared with the first Royal Show held in Canterbury the total entries this year show an increase of 45. In 1925 the total was j 2729, this year's total is 2774. As compared with the Canterbury A. and P. Association's Metropolitan Show of 1926, this year's entries are more by 299! Most noteworthy are the entries in the pig sections, the total being greater than at any Show ever previously held on the Addington Show Grounds. This year's total is 131, which is 59 more than last year, and 76 more than at the first Eoyal Show held in Canterbury. The previous highest entries of pigs at the Metropolitan Show was 97—in 1900 and in 1913. The largeness of the entry this year is due to the special prizes offered by the New Zealand Meat Producers' Board, totalling £l5O. Total Entries.
