ACKNOWLEDGMENT.
TO THIS EDITOR 0? TBB PBS3S. Sir, —A week ago I appealed for ihelp for the Edens family, who were so tragically bereaved by the Heathcote River drowning accident. The response has been splendid. From far and near have come contributions of clothing and cash. Of clothing we received sufficient to give all the family a good outfit and some warm things for next winter. Of cash over £IOO has been handed in with some more to come—sufficient to put them on their feet again. We also received some clothing and cash, specially given for the mother of Jackie Downing. We have been able to give her a good outfit and do all that is needed at present. May I, through your columns, thank all who have so generously responded?— Yours etc., '
A. H McC. ACHESON Vicarage, Woolston, Oct. 28th.
