CARRINGTON HUT.
TRAMPING CLUB'S DIFFICULTY. To niake available to Christchurch folk and others that part of the National Park at the head-waters of the Waimakariri and the region of the White glacier it is essential that the hut in memory of G. N. Garrington, one of the pioneera of the region, should be erected. Tho Tramping Club, which, with the Canterbury Progress League, has the matter in hand, finds itself in a difficulty because enquiries in the district have not disclosed where packhorses can be got, and these are necessary to transport tho material to the site of the hut. Tho club has funds wherewith to pay for the hire of the pack-horses, and the only question is where can pack-horses be obtained. A party of members of the Tramping Club intend to go to the site on November 21st, and if pack-horses can be obtained to carry the material, they intend to go on with the work of erecting the hut.
