GOITRE PREVENTION.
HOSPITAL BOARD'S ACTION. lodised salt will, in future, be used in all those institutions controlled by the North Canterbury Hospital Board. The following clause from the Hospital Committee's report was adopted at yesterday's meeting of the Board: — The committee recommends the Board to authorise the general use of "iodised" salt in all the institutions. The cost is very little more than plain salt, and it is iioped that this example will inflnenco the public to bring "iodised"' salt into general use. This course is strongly recommended l\v the Department of Health and tbe British Medical Association, particularly in districts where goitre is prevalent. Dr. H. T. D. Acland spoke in support of the recommendation, and tyged the necessity for such precautionary measures. '
Use lodised salt daily for goitre. Cerebos lodised Salt, packed in tins, is recommended. A British product. —3
