TO SEARCH FOR LOST EXPLORER.
DISAPPEARANCE IN BRAZIL. (BT CABLB—PHESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AXD H.Z. CABL» ASSOCIATION.) (lleceived October 25th, 8.15 p.m.) NEW YORK, October 24. Commander George • Gyott, explorer and author, plans to sail for Rio de Janeiro on December 10th to search the uncharted Brazilian wilderness for Colonel P. W. Fawcett, the British explorer, who was last heard from in May, 1925, when seeking traces of lost civilisation. Colonel Fawcett was reported to have been found last September when Mr Roger Courteville, the Brazilian -ngtneer, believed he saw Colonel Fawcett and his son Jack and another white man living a primitive farm life in a wilderness paradise near Diamantana. Thev were unwilling to return to civilisation and preferred a less complex existence. Colonel Fawcett's identity was never definitely established. In the event ot Commander Gyott not finding Colonel Fawcett he intends to push on in an effort to discover the traces of civilisation which Colonel Fawcett sought.
