MANDATES.
COMMISSION MEETS. (BT CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPTRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND V.Z. CABLI ASSOCIATION.) (Received October 25th, 10.50 p.m.) GENEVA, October 25. Germany for the first time was represented on the Permanent Mandates Commission. The chairman, in opening, welcomed Herr Kastl. The remaining meetings, as usual, will be held in private. The agenda is not a*n impressive one.
REPORT ON SAMOA MAY BE DELAYED. (AUSTRALIAN* AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received October 2oth, 10.50 p.m.) LONDON, October 25. The Geneva correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" hints that while fair James Parr s report on Samoa is expected at the end of the week, the Commission will probably prefer to postpone it until the next meeting, m view of the enquiry at present in progress in Samoa. The correspondent adds that rumours that Germany has made a strong effort to secure the mandate over one of its former colonies in Africa is absolutely without foundation.
