A POWER BOARD?
SALE OF ELECTRICITY. Dealing with the proposal that an Electrio Power. Board should be\ constituted for the City and environs, the Electricity Committee reported to the City Council last evening:— The committee considered a report from the general manager on this subject, and was informed that a conference would probably be called by the Public Works Department to discuss the matter, ft was resolved that if a conference is called, the chairman and the general manager should attend to ascertain what proposals are submitted to the conference, and report subsequently to the committee. Cr. E. H. Andrews said ho hoped the Council would not be committed to a Power Board. The Council should give its representatives a lead. "We know the Government would like it," he said Cr. P. W. Sharpe said the Council's representatives would adopt a noncommittal attitude. The clause was adopted.
