OCCUPANTS* WONDERFUL ESCAPE. (PEE3S ASSOCIATION lELEQE*J.) AUCKLAND, October 25. A five-seater car, owned and driven by T. Rooney, who was conveying a woman, a young man and .three boys, had the brakes suddenly applied to avoid colliding • with another car. The band brakes sinaahed and the car ran down a steep-road till it attained a speed of 50 miles an hour. The vehicle skidded at the "corner, collided with a heap of metal, turned over three times and stopped in an upright position. The car was badly damaged, but the occupants extricated themselves from the wreckage none the worse, except the woman, but she is only suffering from shock and not seriously injured.
