Bhaskarrav Jadhav, promoter of three Bills in the Bombay Legislative Council to restrict child marriages, says that in the Bombay Presidency alone thero arc 74,000 married children under five years of age, of whom 3574 aro widows. Nearly 2000 children are married before, thoy are a year old. The total number of married children between the ages of five and 10 years * is nearly 350,000.
