Mr H. D. Acland arrived in Christchurch on Saturday from Wellington. v Mr E. S. Luttrell returned to Christchurch from Wellington on Saturday. Bishop. Brodie was a passenger to Xyttelton by Saturday's ferry steamer. Professor J. Macmillan Brown, Chancellor of the University of New Zealand, is visiting Wellington. Mr 6. D. Greenwood arrived in Christchurch on , Saturday from the north. j The Conciliation Commissioner, Mr' W. H. Hagger, has returned to Christchurch from the south. The Hon. Mr Smith, M.L.C.j and the Hon. Mr Russell arrived in Christchurch from the'north on Saturday. Mr Neil M. Macdougall (Auckland) is among the guests at Warner's Hotel. Dr. A. W. Director of the Horticultural Gardens nt Kew, London, will tour New Zealand in January next. Mr A. Ibbotson, general manager of Perpetual Ltd., returned to Dunedin On Saturday. Messrs T. K. Sidey, F. Waite, and T. D. Burnett were members of Parliament who came south on Saturday. Messrs R. Hudson and E. H. Lough, who have been in Christchurch on flourmilling business, have returned to Dunedin. Messrs L. Hazlett (Invercargill). E. R. Morrison (Wellington), and E. and F. Tanner- (Dunedin) are staying at the Clarendon Hotel. < Mr T. E. Warren, who has undergone an operation in the Christchurch Hospital, is now making good progress towards recovery. The Rev. E. Hanna,. who has been appointed vicar of Hinds, Canterbury, i was a passenger to Wellington by the; Ruapehu. The Rev. Canon A. W. H. Compton, formerly of Brooklyn, returned to Wellington by the Ruapehu after a visit to England. The Rev. W. S. C. Stephens, who has been appointed curate at St. Mary's, New Plymouth, arrived from London by the Ruapehu. Mr R. B. H. Murray, of Aberdeen, has arrived by the Ruapehu, arid will commence his duties as a veterinary surgeon to the Canterbury Agricultural College, Lincoln, immediately. . Mr C. J. Talbot, South Island Counties representative on the Main Highways Board, arrived from Wellington 'on Friday. He left for the south on Saturday. Messrs H. S. S. Kyle, D. G. Sullivan, L. J Howard, H. Holland, and the Hon. Mr Buddo, M.P.'s also returned to Christchurch from Wellington during the week-end. Mr "\y.
