CHRISTCHURCH CLUB. Donald Grant won the final of the Christchurch Club championship on Saturday by defeating A. K. Blank by 10 up and ,9 to play over 36 holes. In the face of a gusty, strong nor'-wester, Grant covered the first nine holes in 37, and this was much too good tor his or>:>onenti who was then 6 dqwn. At the end of tho-morning round Grant was 8 up. In the afternoon'.he maintained his lead, and won at the 27th hole.

W. D. Wood' beat- M. A. Johnston by 1 up in tho first round of the Denniston Cup, but in the second round was beaten by L. H. Campbell. R. J". . Murly plays the winner of the. match between Donald Grant and Dr. J. F. Duncan. MALVERN CLUB. Although the Rowallan links will be open for play for some montha yet, it has been, decided to have ■ a club closing day on. Thursday, October 27th. Members of other clubs are invited to take part in the following competitions. HAREWOOD CLUB. The Harewood Golf Club is holding, its closing day-on November 6th, 1927, and-the following competitions arc being held In the : morning a bogey match, commencing at 9.30, and in the 'afternoon, a fourball bogey match. Separate matches will be held for the ladies. Concurrently with the morning match, a competition for the new Harewood Closing Day Cup will be played.. This cup is to be competed for annually between toams of four members of the same club, all players playing from- scratch, and the team returning; the best aggrogatc against bogey ':■ to hold the cup for one year. -

AVONDALE LADIES' CLUB. The eclectic match arranged for to-day lias been abandoned. . A medal match for Mrs Jarvis's trophy-will be played on the 29th.
