v FAMILIES' NARROW ESCAPE. (BY CABLE—PBESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) MELBOURNE, October 20. Fire at Port Melbourne trapped the Edwards and Savage families, of eight persons. Mrs Edwards, in trying to escape downstairs, was badly burned. All escaped in their night clothes to the roof, and thence to safety, carrying the injured woman, who later succumbed.
