NEW BRIGHTON SURF CLUB.
ANNUAL MEETING. Tho seventeenth annual meeting of the New Brighton Surf-bathing and Life-Saving Club was held last night. Mt F. S. Taylor occupied the chair and thera was a go<id attendance. 'J'he annual report and balance-sheet (already published in The Pbebs) were adopted. Reference was made to the plucky action of a junior member of the club, Eodney Cooper, who rescued a boy from drowning in the Avon. ~ • The election of officers resulted as follows: aS? Irvine's name to the hat of "old members." It waa agreed that a letter of thanks be sent to Messrs H. S. Feast and A. E. bummerficld for good work done by thorn for the club. Ml- Taylor, in referring to Daylight Saving, which would come into. operation next month, said it would result in greater time for. bathing, therefore the matter of the . appointment of efficient patrols during bathing houra waa a matter of considerable importance. It was decided to. approach the New Brighton Borough Council in tho matter of arranging for a permanent patrol. On the motion of Mr F. S. Taylor, it > was decided that it bo a recommendation'
