Gibbs has been appointed assistant instructor in agriculture at Palmerston North, Mr W. Walker in tho Bay of Plenty district, Mr A. A. Hume at Dunedin, and Mr W. Dryden at Invercargill. • Mr Alfred Merton, president of the Canterbury Society of Professional Musicians, is in Auckland, where no ivill attend the conference of the New Zealand Society'of Professional Music Teachers, to take place next.week. Mr Sidney Williamson, secretary to the Canterbury Society, will also attend the conference, and will leave Christchurch to-night.
