WELLINGTON, January 21
A meeting of the Mayors of Wellington and nearby boroughs and chairmen of.adjoining local bodies and other institutions concerned in health matters in the Wellington district is to be held on Thursday at the suggestion of the Department of Health to discuss means whereby Wellington area may be placed, in a state of preparedness should the epidemic reach New Zealand.
CHRISTCHURCH COMMITTEE TO ,',''' MEET. The chairman of the Christchurch Health Week Committee, the Rev. Clyde Carr, whose attention was called to the movement in Wellington, told a reporter that a meeting of the General Committee of Health Week had been called for next Friday, for the purpose of winding-up matters relating to Health Week last year, and. also to discuss the desirableness of taking measures m connexion with the possibility of an influenza outbreak. Mr Carr added than he did not desire to see a scare created, but he thought that it would be just as well for the General Committee to discuss the matter.
