"The age of miracles is not passed," said a member of the Wandsworth Guardians, referring to a New Zealander named Gillies, the restoration of whose face has been accomplished.
Gillies, who was "an inmate of the local hospital, had his nose, an eyelid and a cheek blown off in wartime. The speaker added that the patient was now more handsome than anymeniber of the Guardians.
