:. '—♦ —- - •> ' HAILSTORM IN N.S.W. (BT CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT, I (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLB ASSOCIATION.) SYDNEY, January 21. A terrific hailstorm swept Barden Grove, near Dungog. Corn crops and fruit trees were stripped, and large numbers of pigs and fowls were killed. Horses and cattle also suffered severely. Hailstones weighing eight ounces fell, denting roofs as if # by hammers,, and cutting telephone wires. ' ' J Lumps of ice were found in the centre of water melons, most of which were chopped to pieces.
