ARMY MEAT.
AUSTRALIA'S LOST CONTKACT. (BT CABLE-PRESS ASSOCIATION—COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) (Received January 20th, 10.35 p.m.) LONDON, January 19. It is understood that Weddels have .secured the Army contract for their Argentine factory. Mr Hassan, the Australian Meat Council's representative, says this result is not surprising: The success »l South American meat was due purely to organisation, militant marketing, and the personal touch in negotiation. "This is tho gospel which friends of the Australian producers have been preaching for years," he said; "Though price difference is apparently the determining factor, yet previously, when at successful Australian was tendering, the difference was no greater."
