An important sale of Auckland City property was completed to-day, when the trustees of the Outhwaite estate transferred to Unique Properties, Ltd., the freehold of a section with a frontage of 158 feet to Victoria,street east, 18 feet to High street, and 100 feet to Kitchener street. The company had previously bold a 100 years' lease of the laud, and the sale to it of the freehold now, enables Victoria Properties, Ltd., from which it acquired the lease, to complete its voluntary liquidation, which it was prevented from doing until it was. in a position to satisfy the trttstees that the building covenants in the lease would be carried out. The price paid by Unique Properties, Ltd. for the conversion of the lease into freehold was £42,500. This is in addition to the price previously paid for the lease. It is the intention of the eompanv to proceed with the erection of an eightstorey hotel, combining the latest English and American ideas. The ground floor will be utilised for shop?.
