THEATRE ROYAL.
o . MAURICE MOSCOVITCH IN "TRILBY:" Of the several roles in which Mr Maurice Moscovitch has been seon in Christchuich, that of Svengali in "Trilby" stands, out like a cameo. His acting was gripping in its dramatic intensity, and had bo natural an air that it was easy for the audience to forget that tho whole performance was play, and not a tragedy in real life. In the part of Svengali, Moscovitch rises to heights of dramatic artistry. Mis 3 Ellen Pollock had an onerous task in playing tho part of Trilby, but sho played with naturalness and restraint, which niado her performance a most interesting one. Mr Nat Madison played tho part of Billeo moat "ably. Tho supporting members of the cast were Miss Eileen Sparks, Miss Margaret Murray, Miss Kerrie Kelly, Miss Kiore King, Messrs John Harper, George Blunt, J. B. Atholwood, Richard Webster, Alexander Sarncr, Reginald Newson, Leslie Donaghy, and' Ken Brandon. _ "Trilby" will be produced during the remainder of tho week.
