CHAMPION CYCLIST.

SPEARS TO TOUR DOMINION. Under the management of Mr H. W. Nesbitt, the famous Australian and international champion cyclist, Bob Spears, will pay a visit to New Zealand to compete in specially arranged matches against the Dominion's leadins: riders. Spears will make hie first appearance at the English Park Stadium on Saturday, January 29th, when he will meet Jack Henderson, the New Zealand champion, in a series of three races over separate distances. Spears has the distinction of winning the Grand Prix de Paris, with prize money of about £IOOO attached, three times in succession, a performance which no other rider has achieved. He is the greatest draw card amongst the world's leading cyclists on the Continent, and is the only rider who has met and defeated the world's best cyclists, including the American Frank Kramer, whom he defeated eleven times in thirteen races. Amongst his other victories are wins against the Spencer Bros. (Willie and Art.). Harris Horder, 'Walker, Moeskops (Denmark), Kaufman, Ellegard, Ruff, Grenda, Bailey (England), and Poulain. Spears will subsequently appear in other centres in the Dominion.
