(ritOHf OUB OWN COBEESPOjfDEKT.) LONDON, December 15. Mr Ernest Firth, F.R.C.0., organist, Durham street Church, Christchurch, will leave by the P. and 0. Chitral on December 31st, on'his way back. New Zealand should be reached in the middle of February. , Another New Zealander homewardbound by the same vessel is Mr C. A. Wilson (Auckland), whose.book, "The Empire's Junior Partner," has recently been published by Messrs Williams and Norgate. Mr Wilson has had a busy time during the past few months, and he is looking forward to the trip home. Messrs Stanley Paul have in the press and expect to issue in the course of a few weeks a book written by Commander F. A. Worsley,-describing the Gret-tir-Algarsson British Arctic Expedition in 1925. Commander Worsley had charge of tho ship. The book will be illustrated by a number of photographs. Captain H. F. C. Crookshank, M.P., has returned to London after his trip to New Zealand.

. The strong committee recently set up to enquire into the affairs of Lipton, Ltd., consists of Sir William Plender, Sir Gilbert Garnsey, Sir Benjamin Johnson, and Mr J. M. Fitzgerald (chairman and managing director of Messrs George Bowles, Nicholls and Co., Ltd.),' Messrs Bowles, Nicholls and Co. are old-estab-lished distributing provision agents, Lrgely interested in New Zealand dairy produce, and is the'firm with which Mr H. C. Cameron (formerly Produce Commissioner for the New Zealand Government in this country) is now connected. Mr J. B. Thompson (Dunedin) arrived recently by the Eemuera on a visit to his son, Mr E. Heber Thompson, the talented artist and etcher. He will spend Christmas in London, with his son, and will then leave for Bradford — his native city—to renew acquaintances with relatives, after an absence of 48 years. Mr Thompson's stay will not be long, as ho has booked his return passage by the Cathay for January 28th., with the intention of being back in Dunedin in March.
