FIRE AT KAIAPOI.

FIVE-ROOMED HOUSE DESTROYED.

About mid-day yesterday a five-room-ed house situated in Beswick street, Kaiapoi, and occupied by Mr J. McAllister, was totally destroyed by fire. At the time of; the outbreak the occupants were away, and it is supposed the fire started from the kitchen fire, which was left burning. The house was insured for £l5O, with the Victoria Insurance Co., and the contents with the State Fire Insurance Office, also for £l5O.
