FALLING CASE.

SHIP'S OFFICER LOSES LEG. [THE PRESS Special Service] DUNEDIN, January 18. Mired Shepherd, aged 21 years, an officer on board the Trevorian, was admitted to the hospital to-day suffering from a compound fracture of the left leg and a simple fracture of tho right leg sustained through a case falling on him from a sling in the ship's hold. He was operated on, and the left leg was amputated, but he died during the evening.
