AMUSEMENTS.
EVERYBODY'S THEATRE. The story of Sweet Nell ot Old Diuiy still has the appeal that it had ages ago, and it is the best-loved tale of illicit love there is. British National Picture" production of "Nell Gwynne" is an artistic triumph, and truer art than the acting of Dorothy Gish ia the title role could not be expected. The director has exploited to the full the true and traditionary facts dealing with the pretty orange seller who found favour in the eye 6 of "the Merry Monarch," and who lives witn her dressing-room companion, Mrs Knipp, in the leaves of Sam Pepys'a Diary. Dorothy Gish has full range for her talent in the abandon, wit, and saucy rougery which the part calls for. The acting all through the piece is of the highest order, and those specially worthy of mention are Juliette Corapton as my Lady Castlemain, and Randal Ayrton as Charles 11.
The other attractions on the bill include news reels and comedies.
