The Dunsandel Bowling Club .inflicted a decisive defeat upon the Leeston Club in a Loudon Booster competition match, played on the Dunsandel green, the winners having a lead of 2S points at the finish. Dunsandel'a triumph was the result of superior play all round, Leeston having a lead in only one rink. The result of tho match means that Dunsandel Club will retain the Rooster, which has been in its possession for several seasons.

A new club, a driver, which the- inventor claims cannot slice the ball, has vertical grooves fluted to correspond with 1,1)6 curvature of a golf ball, and moulded on the club's face. When the ball is struck, the ridges catch and drop it into one of the grooves, preventing motion sideways.
