SOVIET EXECUTIONER DEAD.
EXPERT REVOLVER SHOT. (BT CABLE—PRESS ASSOCIATION— COPYRIGHT.) (AUSTRALIAN AND N.Z. CABLE ASSOCIATION.) MOSCOW, January \h M. Shabin, former Bolshevik executioner, died in prison, having been recently sentenced to ten years' gaol for embezzlement. Shabin in five years carried out more than 500 executions. He was an expert shot with the revolver, with which executions in Russia are still carried out. The condemned man is stripped except for his undershirt, and is shot through the back of the head.
