After today's play in the tennis Tost match between New Zealand and -New boutn Wales, vietorv for the Dominion seems assured. New Zealand won eight matches of the ten played, and lost only eight sets. Kesuits:— SINGLES. E. D. Andrews beat A. L. North, OS, 6-4, O-'J. G. Ollivier lost to N. Peach, 6-4. 4-6, 4-6. D. G. France beat J. Fitzgerald, 3-0, G-4, 0-4. Noel Wilson beat J. McCausland, 9-7, 6*. N. G. Sturt beat P. Peach, 6-1, G-4. L. G. Knott beat C. Brewster, 6-4, 4-6, 6-2. ) DOUBLES. Knott and Sturt lost to Peach and Peach, 1-6, 3-6. . „ Ollivier and Wilson beat North and McCausland, 6-3, 2-6, 6-4. Andrews and France beat Fitzgerald and Brew6ter, 6-2, 6-4. Knott and Sturt beat Fitzgerald and Brewater, 8-6, 6-4. „N.S.W. PLAYERS. PROPOSED VISIT TO TIMARU. (SPECIAt, TO THE PRESS.) TIMARU, January 14. Efforts are being made by the South Canterbury Lawn Tennis Association to get the New Zealand Association to include Tirnaru in the South Island itinerary of the NewSouth Wales playors. # . If sanction is obtained, the visitors will probably play in Timaru about January 26th.
