GIANT FLOWERS.
ON EVENING DRESS. (FfiOll OUB OWM COBBESPOHDiKT.) LONDON,.November 2G. Huge flowers of chiffon, larger than any flower that blooms, are being used to decorate the hips of some of the latest evening frocks. The new chiffon bloom is the latest form of the danco "buttonhole." Very large and round, with innumerable petals, usually fashioned from several blending shades of chiffon, one of these flowers is placed on either hip of the dress. The pair of blooms rather give the effect of a fresh variation of tho pannier skirt fashion, which is very much in revived favour with Dame Fashion at the moment. A little black satin dance dress displayed by a leading designer had rosecoloured chiffon blooms linked together by "stems" of green chiffon velvet twisted across the waistline. Sometimes these hip flowers arc made from feathers, as in a filmy blue georgette frock, on which were gigantic chrysanthemum-like flowers made entirely from fluffy pale yellow feathers. For size these flowers put to shame the largest of the prize chrysanthemum blooms at flower shows. Besides being ornamental the flowers are very light and can be fixed as pockets on to the frock, the tops of the blooms in this case being fastened to the waist with invisible clips.
