DRUG POISONING.

CONTRACTOR'S DEATH. [THE PRESS Special Serried.} AUCKLAND, January U. Leu Barnard, aged 26, contractor, of •201 Dermont street, Island Bay, Wellington, who was found unconscious on Milford Beach on Wednesday morning, died in tho Auckland Hospital this morning. It was reported by the hospital authorities that death was due to drug poisoning. Barnard, who was in an unconscious condition when discovered on the beach, failed to revive when artificial respiration methods were applied and was conveyed to hospital, where he was in a very low condition. It is understood that Barnard had been in ill health for some time.
