"SIGNS OF THE TIMES."
THE RUSSIAN MENACE. ASIATIC PROPAGANDA. ••Some remarkable Signs of the Times.'-' was the subject of a lecture by Pastor A. W. Anderson, of Sydney, at the Seventh Day Adventistß' Camp, at the Show Grounds, Addington. Among other things the lecturer dealt with the Russian menace to the world's peace. Day after day, he 6aid, the cables reveal the outworking of the revolutionary activities of the Bolsheviks. The present situation in China was but a manifestation of the results of Russian propaganda. While Russia continued to indoctrinate the Asiatics with undying hatred to Britain, it was useless to"talk of world peace. Abundance of evidence was available to prove that Russian influence was actively at work in all parts of Asia, for the purpose of overthrowing British power and prestige. An Asiatic League of Nations was in process of formation under the leadership of the Soviets for the purpose of obstructing the efforts of the League of Nations at Geneva. In Afghanistan efforts are being made to establish a Mohammedan League of Nations. A newspaper correspondent at Kabul reported recently that it was hoped in Afghanistan that a coalition of Powers would he effected, which would break up tho British Empire. In 1920 the Bolsheviks held a congress at Baku at which 1800 self appointed delegates assembled from all parts of the Oriental wbrld. Zinovieff, who presided over the congress made an inflammatory opening speech, urging the Orientals to preach undying hatred to Britain. A pamphlet was prepared for circulation in all the languages of the Orient, and millions of those pamphlets had been distributed throughout the cities and townß and villages of Asia.
With such inflammatory propaganda circulated all over Asia, it was but natural, said Pastor Anderson, that the Asiatics should be in a state of unrest and revolution, lie believed the League of Nations would fail to hold in check the revolutionary forces which were being organised in' Asia for the purposeof overthrowing civilisation. His opinion was formed after a careful study of Biblical prophecies, which, the lecturer said, pointed unmistakably to the development of Russian power in Asia in the last days, which, acoording to the prophecv of Ezekicl, would seek to interfere with the peace of Palestine after the deliverance of that country from its enemies. This was accomplished by the British forces in 1917, under General Allenby. The prophecy in Ezekicl, chapter 3S,'was minutely expounded by tho lecturer in support of his belief that the freedom of Palestine and tho revolutionary activities of the Bolsheviks were definite fulfilments of Ezekiel's predictions concerning the imbroglio which would precede Armageddon.
