Su,—Your article this morning leads me to surest that the electrification of the tunnel bhould include such alterations iu permanent way as would onablo the tunnel to be used as » motor road in the event of n repetition of the railway strike u few years ago. Such a method of connexion with tn« port would have been uivaluablo at that, time. .. If tho tunnel'was Units made available for vehicular traffic, and the cost would not be great, it might be worth while throwing tho tunnel open lor motor traffic, on say Sunday mornings, before tho railway service commences and indeed it might bo continued throughout the day under supervision, as tho 'railway service is very infrequent, and there would be ample time for considerable motor traffic between the railway trips. Will the Railway Committee' of the Chamber of Cominerce "ivo some •consideration to the u.atter?-Yours, etc.
