BIRMINGHAM FIRE TRAGEDY,

LONDON, January 12,
A disastrous fire wliich occurred in a small house in Birmingham, occupied by Charies Pedley, Bis wife, eight thiU dren, and a girl, tku-a Barker, resulted in the deaths of Barker, Mrs Pedley, and two children. Five others of the Pedleys were injured, four critically. Tile fire broke out in a stairway, imprisoning the occupants. ~ Neighbours held out blankets below, shout, ing "Jump," but the. victims, bewildered by the smoke, were unable to respond. Later. Three more victims of the Birmingham fire are dead.
