ROSE'S TOUR.
A BIG SURPLUS. [THE PRESS 8p«olftl Ssrries.] WfiLLPGTON, January 13. The statement of receipts and expenditure in connexion with the tour to England and Europe last year by ft. A. Rose, the New Zealand champion distance runner, and J. W. Mcßolm, shows that the whole trip was economical. The cost of the tour, including fares, assembly at Wellington, and all ex* penses overseas, amounted to £9lB 16s 3d. Other expenses incidental to the tour totalled £37 163. Petty expenses were £33 13b 2d, the organiser's salary £4O, and sundry expenses for the ft. A. Rose day £66 6b 4d. Receipts totalled £2114 7s sd, made up as follows:—-Wellington Centre (street collections and other subscriptions), £893 3s Id; Wairarapa SubCentre, £304 0s 4d; Manawatu SubCentre, £36 2s 7d; West Coast (North Island Centre), £l6O 9s lOd; Taihape, Hamilton, Rotorua, and Blenheim, £6l 12s 3d; Canterbury Centre.'£l92os Id; Gtago Centre, £llß 12s 3d; Independence Art Union (half net proceeds for given period), £349 53 4d. After paying all expenses there is in hand a sum of £1027 lis Id, and by a. resolution of the Council of the New Zealand Amateur Athletic Association, this is to be held aside for future overseas tours.
