INQUEST ON RIDER

At the. inquest concerning the death of Nelson Herbert Boss, aged 20,.wh0 was thrown from a horse at Helensville last Sunday, evidence was given that the owner of the horse tried to dissuade Ross.from riding itFrederick James Carter, electrical engineer, said that Ross asked to be allowed to ride his horse, but witness refused, as his horse was a spirited animal and Boss was nob a, good horseman. Later he saw Ross jump on the horse and gallop down the Wad. When going over a bridge about a chain from-the house thelbrse fell, with the result that Ross tf as thrdwn heavily. "Witness ran to the spot and found Ross unconscious. The only apparent injury was a cut on the back or Jus left hand. • , The Coroner adjourned the enquiry in order to have medical testimony as to the cause of death.
