Notes. a The Gale arrived from Oamaru yesterday morning, and after loading for Wellington, Picton, and Wanganui, doparted for Lyttelton. The John arrived from Oamaru yesterday to load for Wellington, Wanganui, and New Plymouth. She left for Lyttelton on completion. The Waipiata, to load for Wellington and Auckland, is due to-day from Dunedic. The Kiwitea, of the Union Co.'s fleet, is also expected to-day from the north, to discharge North Island cargo. The Holmdale, on the Wellington anil Wanganui trip, is scheduled for Saturday from the south. The New Zealand Shipping Co.'s liner Rotorua is now set down to arrive on Saturday from Port Chalmers, to load frozen meat, wool, and general cargo for the Homeland. The Poolta, with a part cargo of Australian timber and poles for Timaru. is expected about Monday from Bluff. The Canadian Government steamer. Canadian Planter, is due at Timaru about January 30th.
