PALMERSTON NORTH CHAMPIONSHIPS. THE FINAL STAGES. (riIISS ASSOCIATION TtLIQBJJf.) • PALMERSTON N., January 12. The tennis championships finals were played today, and resulted as follows: Men's Singles.—Haege beat Andrews, 6-3, 3-6, 6-1. Ladies' Singles.—Miss Speirs beat Mrs Melcdy, C-0, 6-3. Men's Donbles.—Haege and Malfroy (Wellington) beat Wilson and Park, 6-0, 6-3. Ladies' Doubles.—Mrs Melody and Miss Speirs beat Mrs lletley and Miss Clark, 6-0, 6-3. Mixed Doubles.—Andrews and Miss Speirs beat Haege and Miss Macfarlane, 6-3, 6-1. HANDICAP FINALS. Men's Singles.—Smith (13) beat Mawhiney (2), 60-48. Men's Doubles.—Anderson and Sandmll "{8) beat Barkrnan and Powdrell (3), 60-5:1. Ladies' Doubles.—Misses Mvers and Calvert (2) beat Misses D. Haggitt and Fanning (4), 50-30.
