LORRY WHEEL
CRUSHES CHILD'S ARM. (ritBSS ASSOCIATION TELEGRAM.) I'AHIATUA, January 12. A distressing accident occurred at Ilukanui, when Beryl Mabey, aged three and a lialf years, a daughter of Mr R. Mabey, had an arm crushed by a motor-lorry. Her father was manoeuvring the lorry in the Hukanui station yard when lie heard a cry. He jumped down and found a rear wheel on the child's arm. In frantic haste ho moved the lorry up, but ii; was found that the child's arm was crushed and mangled. She was removed to Pahiatua Hospital where the arm was amputated.
